* WHAT...Flooding due to runoff from excessive rainfall over the last few days is occurring.
* WHERE...Central Gallia County in southeastern Ohio... Southeastern Vinton County in southeastern Ohio...
* WHEN...Until 300 PM EDT Thursday.
* IMPACTS...Flooding along Raccoon Creek and its tributaries is occurring. Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 720 PM EDT, county officials reported that flooding of the Raccoon Creek is occurring across the warned area. State Route 124 in southern Vinton County remains closed due to flooding. In the City of Vinton, State Route 325 at State Route 160 is closed due to flooding. State Route 554 between Rio Grande and Bidwell is closed due to flooding. - The Raccoon Creek gauge at Adamsville has breached action stage and continues to slowly rise. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... What to do
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become unstable and unsafe.
